The hotel is a reconstruction of a 19th century convent. The convent site was chosen for the views and being close to Braga, the Bon Jesus Sanctuary and the religious centre of Sameiro

The air conditioned hotel has 63 rooms and 5 suites all with en suite bathrooms and having Satellite television, telephone and internet connection, mini bar and hair dryer.

Hotel facilities include a football pitch and a tennis court. In addition the health club has an indoor pool, gymnasium, sauna, jacuzzi, turkish bath and and a massage room.

The area around the hotel is mature woodland with the rear having been cleared for gardens around the large open air swimming pool overlooking the valley to the rear.

Braga is now a busy commercial centre but was formerly the religious capital of Portugal.  The Cathedral in the centre was founded in 1070 AD. The town is still famous for being the scene of spectacular Easter Celebrations with torch lit processions and hooded penitents.

The hotel is used regularly top international and club football teams for their matches in Portugal.

The hotel's "Restaurante do Convento" serves traditional Portuguese gastronomy as well as international cuisine.

There are conference and banqueting facilities for 400 persons.
