Casa Sao Rafael has recently
opened and is approximately 2 kilometres away from the centre of Obidos,
enjoying an outstanding view to the town and its castle.
Set in a 6800 square meters secluded property, Casa Sao Rafel's four cottages offer quality accommodation in a special location, near one of the fewest walled European towns. The property has swimming pool, private car park and children's playground.
Casa Sao Rafel is a secluded property in spite of having a hotel nearby. The four cottages are tastefully furnished and are very comfortable.
Other facilities at the property include snooker table, laundry service, breakfast room, bar and some games.
A stroll along Obidos' narrow streets and its surroundings can be truly fascinating as the town retains most of its character. In the area there are also many good restaurants and local "tascas".
The owner of Casa Sao Rafael can give information regarding local attractions, bird watching and walking tours in the region.
Obidos> is one of the most visited towns in Portugal. It is known as "The Wedding City" since, from 1282, it was the traditional wedding gift of the kings of Portugal to their queens. It is one of the few towns in Europe still having the town walls intact.
In 1444 King Afonso V, then
aged ten years, married his eight year old cousin, Isabella in the old
church in the central square in the town. While in the area visit
the costal town of Peniche with its many typical fish restaurants and Alcobaca
with an imposing gothic monastery which has the UNESCO World Heritage classification.
Obidos also has an excellent golf course, Praia D'el Rey, click here for details. |
