Portugal has varied scenery to attract the tourist. Oporto (Porto) airport serves the beautiful mountainous Celtic north of the country where the accommodation is mainly in manor houses, Pousadas and stone built self catering villas and cottages.

The more sophisticated area around the Capital city of Lisbon has south facing beaches and many hotels. The airport is the base for most trans-atlantic flights.

Portugal's famous Algarve coastline with long sandy beaches has a wealth of accommodation for visitors. European tourists are served by Faro airport.
