Formerly the homes of the estate workers the cottages have been very tastefully converted into high standard accommodation. They all have one bedroom and similar facilities.

All the cottages are decorated in traditional style with a lime based product called "cal" to which colour in the form of iron oxide is added. This finish has the unusual distinction of changing colour depending on the humidity.

Camellia Cottages 1 and 2

Double bedroom with en suite bathroom. Sitting area with sofa and fireplace which is ideal for the family to gather round during the cooler winter months.

Dining table for 2 persons and fitted kitchenette with microwave and fridge. A cot is available on request (supplement payable).

Camellia Cottage 3

Twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Large sitting room with sofa suite and fireplace.

Dining table for 4 persons and fitted kitchenette with microwave and fridge. An extra bed or a cot is available on request (supplement payable).

All the cottages in the property open onto a courtyard with pretty white stone seating and tables and chairs.

The extensive grounds feature many quiet areas in which to relax or read quietly to the sound of the waterfall nearby.

The grounds feature a 19th Century formal garden, a fountain and many seating areas from which guests may admire the stunning views of the ocean.

There is a swimming pool in the grounds for the guests' use. Wireless internet is also available at Quinta da Boa Viagem.

The dimensions of the pool are 12 metres by 7 metres and the depth is from 1 metre to 1.70 metres. The pool features seating and when sitting you are waist high in water and have uninterrupted views of the ocean in the distance.

The gardens retain their original style with many plants, trees and shrubs which were brought back during the earliest journeys to the east. The "Old Garden" has some of the first camellias in Europe still flourishing.

The Chinese style garden has "Lions of Fo" inspired by Chinese culture. There is also the "French Garden" with box hedges and fountains.

Two children's play areas are available for younger members of the party.

"Quinta da Boa Viagem" also offers two bedroom or three bedroom cottages with either twin beds or double beds.
